Definition of adhesive

Hits: 941 img

A class of natural or synthetic, organic or inorganic substances that can connect two or more parts or materials together through interfacial adhesion and material cohesion are collectively referred to as adhesives (adhesives), also known as adhesives, and are usually called glue.

1. Bonding (adhesion): refers to the state in which two surfaces are combined by chemical force, physical force or both.

2. Adhesives must first adhere to the surface of the adherend. This is because the adhesive force between the two phases comes from the secondary bond force or the primary bond force.

3. Cohesion: that is, the state in which the particles inside a single substance are combined by the primary bond force (including ionic bond, covalent bond, coordination bond, metallic bond, etc.) and the secondary bond force (including van der Waals force, hydrogen bond). The cohesion of the adhesive is related to factors such as intermolecular force, relative molecular mass, degree of crosslinking, crystallization and molecular entanglement.
