IOTA 232 is chemically named 1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-3,3-diphenyltrisiloxane, CAS No. 17875-55-7. It is a colorless transparent liquid with GC purity up to 98%, featuring low impurities and stable, controllable crosslinking reaction. It has a specific gravity of 0.994, a stable refractive index of 1.500 at 20°C, a boiling point of 130–131°C (2.5 mmHg), and a flash point above 110°C, ensuring safe processing and low volatilization.
It exhibits excellent compatibility with methyl silicone oil, liquid silicone rubber, phenyl silicone rubber and phenyl silicone resin without delamination or precipitation, eliminating extra compatibilizers and simplifying formulation procedures. Dual terminal reactive Si-H bonds deliver high crosslinking efficiency for addition-cure silicone rubber and phenyl silicone resin. Packed in sealed 15kg and 200kg coated iron drums, store in cool and ventilated warehouses, suitable for mass production of electronic potting compounds and general high-temperature sealants.
