Application in Aerospace Products Becomes Increasingly Widespread

Their application in aerospace products has become more and more extensive, mainly because most aerospace products adopt light alloys, honeycomb structures and composite materials. However, aerospace products operate in harsh environments, which imposes higher requirements on adhesives—these adhesives need to withstand extreme conditions such as ultra-high temperature, temperature alternation, high vacuum, ultra-low temperature, thermal cycling, ultraviolet radiation, charged particles, micro-meteoroids and atomic oxygen.
Targeting the adhesive application needs of the aerospace industry, the Adhesive Research Institute has developed more than 100 types of special adhesives and sealants, mainly including polyurethane epoxy resin-based, organosilicon-based, acrylate-based and organoboron-based adhesives. The vast majority of these products have been applied in China’s aerospace products such as launch vehicles, satellites and spacecraft.
