Animal glues have been widely used in the furniture and wood processing industry. Common products include furniture such as chairs, tables, and cabinets, as well as models, toys, sports equipment, and laminated products. Newer liquid animal glues with a solid content of 50%-60% include fast-setting and slow-setting types. They are used in scenarios such as frame board bonding for cabinet hardboards, portable housing assembly, difficult laminates, and other small-to-medium adhesive requirements where cheaper hot animal glue liquids are not suitable.
Animal glues are a basic type of adhesive used in adhesive tapes. These tapes can be used for common light-duty retail packaging bags, as well as heavy-duty tapes, such as sealing solid fiber and corrugated cartons for shipping goods, which require fast mechanical operation and lasting high bonding strength. In such cases, bone glue is widely used, and hide glue is often used alone or compounded with bone glue. Wet tapes can be dried using steam-heated rollers under tension or with adjustable air direct heaters.
In addition, applications of animal glues also include the manufacturing of sandpaper and abrasive cloth tools, sizing and coating of textiles and paper, and binding of books and magazines.
