Design principles for altering the bonding strength of adhesives

Hits: 621 img

  1. Select resins (such as epoxy resin and polyurethane) with both high adhesive force and high cohesive force.
  2. Add toughening agents to reduce brittleness, increase the toughness of the adhesive layer, and minimize internal stress.
  3. Combine thermosetting resins with thermoplastic resins or rubbers. Thermosetting resins provide strength and heat resistance elements, while thermoplastic resins provide adhesiveness and toughness elements. The comprehensive result will be a relatively high bonding strength.
  4. Introduce polar groups or add resins with good compatibility and high polarity to improve the bonding strength of rubber-based adhesives.
  5. Use an appropriate cross-linking agent.
  6. Add an appropriate amount of suitable fillers to reduce the shrinkage rate. Whiskers or nano Tennessee ores have an excellent effect.
  7. Add an appropriate coupling agent.
  8. Add diluents to reduce the viscosity and increase the wettability.
