Adhesives have been known by more and more people. Sealants are indispensable in industrial production and daily life. For example, in the communication field, automotive field and aviation field. As we all know, airplanes are currently the most widely used means of transportation with short travel time and high speed. So do you know how adhesives are used in the aviation field?
The bonding process of adhesives
Example: There is a sealed cabin in the main fuel tank of a certain type of aircraft. The fuel tank wall made of 30CrMnSiA material has an angle steel frame of the same material welded inside. The aluminum plate with a one-way valve is formed by a combination of adhesive-riveting (instant adhesive) and adhesive-bolting methods.
-
Surface treatment of adhesive-riveted parts
After the formed 30CrMnSiA angle steel is surface-treated, before bonding, wipe each bonding surface (which should be 1 to 2 times larger than the gluing area) twice with an organic solvent. Change the silk cloth after each wipe. After wiping, let it air dry, and finally wipe the bonding surface once with a clean silk cloth to remove the traces of the solvent residue.
-
Surface treatment of aluminum plate
After the 1mm-thick aluminum plate is anodized on the surface, spray a coating that has good adhesion to the metal surface and good compatibility with the sealant. The coating thickness is controlled at 10 - 15um. Before bonding, wipe and clean it with a solvent and let it dry.
-
Surface treatment of rivets, bolts and one-way valves
The surfaces of the rivets and one-way valves are anodized, and the surfaces of the bolts are galvanized.
