  1. General-purpose Adhesives
The so-called "general-purpose" adhesives refer to those that can bond various metals, plastics, etc. Among them, silicone adhesives are a type of general-purpose adhesive.
Silicone adhesives are mainly divided into two categories: one-component and two-component, and each category has many varieties. In the electronics industry, one-component moisture-curing rubber adhesives are more commonly used. Their main applications are as follows: insulation and sealing of high-voltage circuits, bonding and sealing of various electronic components, hybrid integrated circuits, power supply components, high-voltage components such as cathode ray tubes, and heat-resistant glass products.
  2. Thermal Conductive Adhesives
When assembling some components with high heat generation and heat dissipation requirements on electronic chassis and circuit boards, thermal conductive adhesives are usually required. For example, transformers, transistors, CPU chips, etc., usually need to be bonded to the housing, circuit board cold plate or heat sink using thermal conductive adhesives.
Thermal conductive adhesives are generally one-component. A good thermal conductive adhesive not only has good thermal conductivity, resistance to thermal cycling, anti-aging performance and electrical insulation performance, but also has excellent moisture-proof, shock-resistant, corona-resistant, anti-leakage and chemical medium-resistant properties. It can be continuously used at -60°C to 280°C while maintaining its performance, without swelling, and has good adhesion to most metals and non-metallic materials.
  3. Conductive Adhesives
In the field of microelectronics assembly, conductive adhesives are generally applied to the connection of fine wires with printed circuits, electroplated base plates, metal layers of ceramic bonded objects, and metal chassis, bonding wires to tube sockets, bonding components to the planar holes passing through the printed circuit, bonding waveguide tuning, and hole patching, etc.
According to different curing systems, conductive adhesives can be divided into room temperature curing conductive adhesives, medium temperature curing conductive adhesives, high temperature curing conductive adhesives, UV curing conductive adhesives, etc.
  4. Encapsulating Adhesives
When bonding, sealing, encapsulating and coating for protection of electronic components, encapsulating adhesives are usually required. Before curing, the encapsulating adhesive is in a liquid state. After curing, it can play the roles of waterproofing, moisture-proofing, dust-proofing, insulation, heat conduction, sealing, anti-corrosion, temperature resistance and shock resistance.
In terms of material types, the three most commonly used types at present are epoxy resin encapsulating adhesives, silicone resin encapsulating adhesives, and polyurethane encapsulating adhesives.
