Classification by Use
Sealing Adhesives
These are mainly used at the joints of doors, windows, and prefabricated components of assembled houses. In the Chinese market for construction adhesives, silicone adhesives and polyurethane sealing adhesives should be the future development trend. Construction Structural Adhesives
These are mainly used for the connection between structural units. For example, in the external repair of reinforced concrete structures, metal reinforcement and fixation, as well as on - site construction, epoxy resin - based adhesives are generally considered.
Automotive Adhesives
Automotive adhesives are divided into four types: for vehicle body, interior decoration, windshield, and vehicle chassis. Currently, the annual consumption of automotive adhesives in China is approximately 40,000 tons. Among them, the most widely used are PVC plastisol adhesives, neoprene adhesives, and asphalt - based adhesives.
Packaging Adhesives
These are mainly used for making pressure - sensitive tapes and labels, and for bonding the surfaces of packaging materials such as paper, plastics, and metals. The adhesive for paper packaging materials is polyvinyl acetate emulsion. For plastic and metal packaging materials, polyacrylic acid emulsion, VAE emulsion, polyurethane adhesives, and cyanoacrylate adhesives are used.
Electronic Adhesives
The consumption of electronic adhesives is relatively small, currently less than 10,000 tons per year. Most of them are used in integrated circuits and electronic products. Currently, epoxy resins, unsaturated polyester resins, and silicone adhesives are mainly used. We can supply the end - sealing adhesives for 5 - micron - thick electronic components, but the adhesives for 3 - micron - thick electronic components need to be imported from abroad.
Shoemaking Adhesives
The annual consumption of shoemaking adhesives is approximately 125,000 tons, of which 110,000 tons are neoprene - based adhesives and about 15,000 tons are polyurethane adhesives. Since neoprene - based adhesives use benzene - based solvents, which are harmful to the human body, their development should be restricted. To meet the development needs of the shoemaking industry, the use of polyurethane - based adhesives will be the trend.
