Binder: The substance in the adhesive formulation that mainly plays the role of adhesion.
Curing agent hardening;agent hardener: The substance that directly participates in the chemical reaction to cause the curing of the adhesive.
Latent Curing Agent: A curing agent that is chemically inert under normal conditions and functions under specific conditions.
Blocked Curing Agent: A curing agent or hardener that temporarily loses its chemical activity and can be reactivated by physical or chemical methods as required.
Accelerator Promoter: The substance in the formulation that promotes the chemical reaction, shortens the curing time, and lowers the curing temperature.
Diluent: A liquid substance used to reduce the viscosity and the concentration of solid components of the adhesive.
Reactive Diluent: A diluent that contains active groups in the molecule and can participate in the curing reaction.
Dispersing Agent: The substance that disperses the components of the adhesive in the medium.
Filler: A non-adhesive solid substance added to improve the performance of the adhesive or reduce the cost.
Modifier (Modifying Agent): The component added to the adhesive formulation to improve its performance, such as fillers, toughening agents and other substances.
Stabilizer: The substance that helps the adhesive maintain its performance stability during preparation, storage and use.
Tackifier: The substance that can increase the tack of the adhesive film or expand the tack range of the adhesive.
Thickener: The substance added to increase the apparent viscosity of the adhesive.
Flexibilizer: The substance in the formulation that improves the brittleness of the adhesive and increases its toughness.
Catalyst: A substance that can change the rate of a chemical reaction and, theoretically, remains chemically unchanged at the end of the reaction.
Extender: A substance that has a little adhesive effect but is mainly added to the adhesive to reduce the cost.
Inhibitor (Retarder): A substance that can inhibit the chemical reaction and is used in some types of adhesives to extend their storage period or pot life.
Release Paper: The protective paper for adhesive films and tapes. It can be easily removed from the adhesive film or tape before use.
