Among the existing heat-resistant adhesives, silicone adhesives are one of the excellent varieties. Silicone adhesive varieties are divided into high-temperature resistant adhesives, heat-resistant sealants, high-temperature resistant strain adhesives and heat-resistant pressure-sensitive adhesives. So, what are the applications of silicone adhesives?
Polyorganosiloxane is a linear polymer composed of alternating silicon atoms and oxygen atoms. After cross-linking and vulcanization, it has excellent high and low temperature resistance, atmospheric aging resistance, electrical insulation and elasticity. It can be used for a long time in the range of -60~200℃, and its physical and mechanical properties rarely change. Therefore, it is widely used in construction, electronics, automobiles, packaging, medical and health and other industries, showing excellent development momentum. Silicone adhesives and seals The uses of glue are constantly expanding, and the varieties and dosages are also increasing year by year.
The siloxanes in silicone resins can react with compounds containing mercapto groups, such as epoxy, phenolic and polyurethane, so these compound resins can be used to modify silicone adhesives.
Silicone adhesives with pure silicone resin as the main material are generally made of xylene as the solvent and added inorganic fillers such as asbestos powder, mica powder, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. It is cross-linked and polymerized to solidify at high temperatures (270°C). It has excellent high temperature resistance and can be used for a long time at 400°C. It is suitable for non-structural bonding and sealing at high temperatures.
Pure silicone adhesive is inconvenient to use due to its high curing temperature and low bonding strength, so it can only be used as a non-structural adhesive. The one OH in epoxy, phenolic, and polyester can react with the siloxane in silicone resin. After introducing this type of resin and modifying it, it can not only maintain the high temperature resistance of the silicone resin adhesive, but also reduce its curing temperature and improve the adhesive quality. connection strength.
Silicone resin can be used in roller anti-adhesive jackets and is widely used in various rollers, molds, pipes, engine inner walls, food machinery, printing machinery hoppers, etc. in the textile industry, printing and dyeing industry, papermaking industry, rubber processing, plastic processing and other fields. Anti-stick coating for frying pans and baking pans, anti-rust and slippery coating for safety knives, etc.
Comparison between fluororesin non-stick coatings and silicone resin non-stick coatings: the former has shortcomings such as high curing temperature, complex construction technology, low gloss of the coating film, and single color, so its application range is limited; silicone resin non-stick coatings have relatively low curing temperatures. It has the advantages of low density, high gloss, changeable colors, and convenient coating. It is also very popular among users in actual construction applications. Of course, fluororesin non-stick coatings have slight advantages over silicone resin non-stick coatings in terms of non-stick properties.
