Adhesives can be found in almost all electronic equipment. For example, they are used for bonding composite materials of radar antennas, providing thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity for the operation of electronic components. They are also used for bonding the nose cone rings of missiles. Typical applications include:
(1) Antenna reflectors for tracking/illumination radars in shipborne air defense systems;
(2) The U.S. Cobra Dane phased array radar system, where adhesives are used for bonding external dielectric windows to the base;
(3) Bonding various electronic components of the Trident MKs missile guidance computer using thermally conductive adhesive films;
(4) Bonding cured epoxy laminates to metal frames in air traffic control radars.
