Such adhesives should possess good mechanical strength, including tensile strength, shear strength, and peel strength, etc. Commonly used adhesives are epoxy resin adhesives, but their peel strength is poor. If epoxy-nitrile rubber adhesives or phenolic-nitrile rubber adhesives are selected, satisfactory results can be obtained. For repairing wear on machine tool guideways, wear-resistant adhesives are required, and AR-5 wear-resistant adhesive can be used. Its hardness reaches 11.8 HB, which is composed of epoxy resin and inorganic fillers. For adhesives used in plastic carpets and beverage bottle labels, higher shear strength and lower peel strength are required.
